Alert Ambulance, through its closely held affiliation with Statewide EMS Services, LLC, has two fully equipped training and education centers located in the Lakewood and Teterboro offices.
Alert supports its employees and the community by offering a comprehensive program that incorporates different levels of education and training.
The department has a team of educators and field trainers that bring forth a wealth of knowledge and experience. As certified instructors in AHA, ASHI, MAVO, and NAEMSE, our educators strive to provide a quality education that focuses on safety and patient care.
The Training and Education Centers provide all in house training for Alert Ambulance and Statewide EMS Services. Classes available on a regular basis are:
- CPR – AHA Healthcare Provider (Weekly)*
- CEVO – Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (4X a year)*
- DDC – Defensive Driving Course (2X a year)*
- Core 13 (2 X a year)*
- MAVO – Initial and Recertification (as needed)*
- ACLS – Advanced Care Life Support*
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Orientations and Annual Competencies
- Additional CEU Classes as scheduled
*These classes are also available to the general public for a fee through the Statewide EMS Services training site.
The Education and Training Department is led by Debbie L. Quintana MS, Pa-C, EMT, Education Manager. Debbie got her start in prehospital care as a NJ EMT and went on to further her education as a Physician Assistant and currently practices in Internal/Family Medicine. Debbie has volunteered as a medical missionary and educator in Belize. She has also taught a history and physical exam course at a Physician Extender program in Haiti. As an EMT on 9/11/2001 Debbie volunteered at Ground Zero. She was also instrumental in the development of the new NJ state approved MAVO program.
